When people see my paintings of vintage cars next to my florals and still lifes (the more common subjects for a “painterly realist/impressionist painter”) … I’m often asked “Why vintage cars?”
Simply put .. they’re gorgeous, they’re colourful, they shine … they’re in Cuba, there are palm trees, nice hotels, stunning architecture, amazing musicians, warm people … the sun is bright and I don’t have to wear a winter coat.
And, thankfully … these upbeat paintings of vintage cars are a big hit with over fifty of them ‘out there’ in the homes and offices of my clients. You can see a few of them here.
Earlier this year they were sold out … so I went back to Havana in May to mine that “jewelry-box” for more of the sparkling gems.
