It’s been a really exciting season … at least in my studio. While spring’s been kind of slow to arrive, I’ve been busy in the studio creating some pretty AWESOME NEW FLORALS!
First came this painting of sunlit sunflowers … which SOLD as soon as it was posted. The buyer said “This is SUCH a HAPPY painting! I LOVE it, and it makes ME feel happy too.” The plan now is to redecorate the entire room in these luminous colours.

And as for this lively gem, I was grooving to the tune “Noche de Rumba” when I thought that would be THE PERFECT TITLE for this sultry little number. Not so little though … 4 feet wide and 3 feet high.

This buzzing-with-vitality jewel, painted lovingly in my FAVOURITE colour palette is appropriately called “Rhapsody in Blue” … also impressive in size at 3 feet square.

BIGGER THAN LIFE again, … “Crimson and Clover” below, is 4 feet wide and 2 feet high. It looks and feels SO FRESH … especially in real life. You can almost smell those freesias.
And according to PANTONE, the ultimate authority on colour, this painting is right in step with the Colour of the Year, Radiant Orchid. This new colour is defined as “captivating, magical and enchanting … imbued with a harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, [it] inspires confidence and its rosy undertones emanate great joy, love and health.” – excerpt from Pantone. Pretty sweet, isn’t it?
