It was the 1970’s in Singapore. I was standing at the front doors of my boarding school, when Granny “Pep” arrived in a big white taxi. I hopped in, we embraced and headed for the majestic Raffles Hotel for lunch.
Once there and warmly greeted, we were guided through the lobby to the magnificent palm court gardens. What a soul-stirring sight! There were elegant palms, luscious greens, and colourful tropical blooms … it was mesmerizing. Never, in all of my 11 years, had I ever seen anything so beautiful! It took my breath away and left me speechless. (I grew up in Labrador and Newfoundland … it’s a different kind of beauty.)
It struck me recently, that all of these years later, this experience marked the beginning of a lifelong and passionate quest for Beauty. Today, as a full time artist, my mission is to paint such exquisitely painted scenes and images, that they “take you away”, just as I was taken away … to a dreamy place … with no words … simply soul-soothing beauty.
Beauty is peace, it refreshes and restores … it puts wind in our sails in this great journey of life.
Enjoy the website, imagine the warm breeze and feel the peace. If you find something that resonates with you, or long to see your own dream scene “in paint”, give me a call.

Great new blog entry … It really conjures up that wonderfully lush tropical feeling that I know from my time spent in Africa, Thailand and the Caribbean. And makes me want it here, now!
That’s great Toni! Love to hear that and super happy that the story resonated with you and your own personal worldly adventures.
Several of my clients have brought that “lush tropical feeling” home …
You can see a few of them here in the ROOMS section of the site.
Thanks for responding to the blogpost. 🙂
You have done it again…you are always doing it !
I am very inspired by your work, and by your passion for your work, and what struck me most from the above blog is the passionate quest for Beauty. Keep it up!
